Guiyang Medicinal Botanical Garden sees visitor numbers double during holiday

Guiyang Medicinal Botanical Garden saw a surge in visitors during this year's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, with visitor numbers increasing 104 percent year-on-year.

The garden's lush greenery and tranquil environment attracted families and groups of friends seeking a relaxing holiday getaway. The garden expanded its recreational offerings over the holiday, adding outdoor barbecue and tea-drinking areas, while introducing more immersive experiences.

By combining nature sightseeing, specialty dining, and recreational activities, the garden has become a popular place for outings with family and friends.

Compared with traditional sightseeing, these experiences encourage visitors to stay longer and relax more, boosting holiday spending. Many visitors said its convenient location near downtown Guiyang, pleasant environment and diverse activities made it an ideal place to unwind during the holiday.

During the holiday, the garden also hosted several livestreams on Douyin, China's short-video platform, showcasing its autumn scenery and recreational activities. The broadcasts offered online audiences a virtual tour and helped attract potential visitors through real-time interaction and online recommendations.
