Guiyang expands bus services to ease summer rush

State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co has introduced dedicated summer travel and long-stay tourism bus routes and extended nighttime services since May 1 to better meet the needs of residents and visitors during the summer travel peak. By the end of July, these measures had provided more convenient transportation for nearly 70 million passenger trips.

In late July, the company launched Bus Route 615, a dedicated summer route providing direct access to Luchongguan Forest Park. The 7.5-kilometer route departs from Beijing Road at 6:30 am, with a fare of 2 yuan ($0.29). Buses run every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends and public holidays, with service scheduled through Oct 7.

On Aug 1, Route 266 began operating between Guiyang North Railway Station and the Huaguoyuan central business district. The trip takes about 15 minutes, allowing high-speed rail passengers to reach the city center without multiple transfers. The two dedicated routes served more than 8,600 passenger trips in their first week.

To better serve long-stay visitors, Guiyang Qinshuang Public Transport under Guiyang Public Transport Co has launched 41 dedicated routes connecting major transport hubs, including Guiyang North Railway Station and Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, with popular attractions such as Qianling Mountain Park, Qingyan Ancient Town, and Jiaxiu Pavilion. The routes make it easier for visitors staying in Guiyang to travel directly between their accommodations, transport hubs, and tourist attractions.
