Guiyang's new quality productive forces gain strong momentum

Using its strengths in the digital economy and computing power, Guiyang is accelerating the development of future industries. That list includes the low-altitude economy, brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), commercial aerospace, and artificial intelligence, with a growing number of innovative projects now taking shape across the city.

AI-powered drones equipped with a low-altitude intelligent inspection system developed by the Guiyang Low Altitude Industry Development Co have been deployed for tasks such as logistics, infrastructure inspection, and public security in Xiuwen county. 

What once required more than three hours of manual patrols can now be completed in just 30 minutes. Powered by large AI models, the system can automatically detect road cracks, abnormal conditions on waterways, illegally parked vehicles, and other potential risks, enabling real-time analysis, early warnings, and more efficient urban governance.

Guiyang is also making strides in the brain-computer interface industry. 

In May, Guizhou's first BCI company was established in the Nanming Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, capitalizing on the province's computing power advantages to advance the commercialization of BCI technologies. 

More recently, the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University performed the province's first perceptual deep brain stimulator implantation surgery based on brain-computer interface technology, marking another milestone in precision neurological treatment.

Elsewhere across the city, emerging digital businesses such as AI-generated animated dramas are flourishing in Yunyan district; Guanshanhu district has pioneered Guizhou's first independently built and operated commercial satellite constellation; and the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone continues to strengthen its commercial aerospace industrial chain.

From intelligent drones in the skies to cutting-edge brain-computer technologies on the ground and commercial satellites in orbit, Guiyang is transforming its computing power and innovation ecosystem into tangible industrial growth, injecting fresh momentum into the city's high-quality development.
