Guizhou South Dairy Co, a leading local dairy producer in Southwest China's Guizhou province, holds around 70 percent of the province's dairy market. Despite an array of challenges such as industry overcapacity and intensifying competition, the company has maintained steady growth by expanding its market presence and improving operational efficiency. Its revenue rose from 1.81 billion yuan ($266.34 million) in 2023 to 1.84 billion yuan in 2025, while net profit attributable to shareholders increased to 221 million yuan.
In recent years, South Dairy has continued to strengthen its integrated dairy supply chain. The company operates seven modern ecological ranches and maintains more than 18,000 Holstein cows and over 900 Jersey cows, forming one of Guizhou's largest and most advanced dairy farming networks. Its marketing network covers all 88 counties, districts and county-level cities across the province, supported by a logistics system featuring central warehouses, regional distribution centers, and a full cold-chain network that enables province-wide delivery within 24 hours.
The company has also accelerated its digital transformation. In 2025, revenue from e-commerce channels reached 66.85 million yuan, up 25 percent year-on-year, driven by an integrated strategy combining multi-platform sales, content marketing, and membership-based customer engagement.
Committed to product innovation, South Dairy has developed a range of distinctive products using local agricultural resources, including Tongren matcha milk drinks, fermented yogurt inspired by Guizhou's traditional rice cake and rice porridge, and litsea-flavored yogurt. At the same time, it continues to invest in premium pasteurized milk, high-end yogurt, and functional dairy products.
The company plans to expand into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and neighboring provinces, while adding more than 400 new retail outlets in 2026. Having recently obtained approval to export dairy products to Hong Kong and advanced its digital supply chain initiatives, South Dairy is accelerating its transition from a regional brand to a broader market player.
