Updated: 2026-03-03

During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday from Feb 15 to 23, Guiyang Tourism Development Group, under State-owned Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group, hosted a series of nighttime activities at scenic spots and hotel clusters such as Qingyan Ancient Town and Tianhetan Scenic Area, significantly boosting related revenue.

Night activities blended intangible cultural heritage, trendy Chinese-style culture, and technological innovation, turning the nighttime economy into a powerful new driver of high-quality development in Guiyang's culture and tourism sector.

At Qingyan Ancient Town, a total of 189 nighttime performances were staged, featuring flying fairy flower-scattering shows, traditional molten iron fireworks displays, and Nuo Opera blessing dances. The events attracted around 380,000 visits and drove operating revenue up 110 percent year on year.

Tianhetan Scenic Area launched a Year of the Horse-themed fireworks show that was livestreamed and attracted more than 2 million views. On-site visitors also enjoyed a variety of interactive nighttime activities, including electronic sky lantern wishes, electronic music bonfire parties, and cave treasure hunts.

The dedicated hashtag "fireworks add Guiyang's New Year flavor" quickly topped Guiyang's Douyin trending list, while robust nighttime ticket sales helped boost the scenic area's overall revenue by 22.35 percent year-on-year.
