The R&D team of Guizhou Haike Industrial Development Co, a subsidiary of State-owned Guiyang Agricultural Investment Group, is developing specialty agricultural products such as rosa roxburghii sparkling water in a bid to expand its presence in overseas markets.

Researchers are busy selecting raw materials, fine-tuning formulas, and advancing new technologies.

In 2025 alone, the company's laboratory generated 37 sci-tech achievements, including one authorized invention patent, three utility model patents, and two design patents. It also developed 18 new formulas, covering five types of blended fruit and vegetable juices – such as ice grape and ice blueberry varieties – as well as products like rosa roxburghii dietary fiber biscuits.

Meanwhile, the company has obtained Food and Drug Administration certification under US standards, and exported its products to Australia, Vietnam, Turkiye, Russia, and other countries.

Meng Yang, deputy director of the Sci-tech Innovation Center at Guizhou Haike, said the company plans to further upgrade its juice production lines and accelerate the launch of products featuring specialty fruits and vegetables such as rosa roxburghii, blueberries, loquats, and strawberries.

Meng added they will complete the construction of a production line with High Pressure Processing technology – a non-thermal (5 C – 20 C) food and beverage preservation method that guarantees food safety and achieves an increased shelf life while maintaining the nutritional attributes of fresh products.

The application of non-thermal processing technologies in dairy products, coffee, and tea will also be explored.
