State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co has taken residents' needs as its guiding principle during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), building a convenient citywide public bus network with integrated urban-rural coverage.

Shortcomings in traditional bus services have gradually emerged, including insufficient coverage in remote communities and rural areas, weak connections between rail transit and bus services, and limited flexibility in route adjustments.

In late March 2025, the company organized managerial staff members to commute by public transport for an entire month, identifying gaps in operations, safety and service. Based on the findings, service capacity was optimized, enabling peak-hour departure intervals to be shortened to 6-10 minutes.

In the same year, the company conducted surveys and on-site visits across townships, working with residents on route planning and stop placement. As a result, a number of public-benefit bus lines were launched, benefiting areas including Wushan village.

Over the past five years, the company has opened a total of 1,007 customized bus routes covering eight major scenarios such as commuting, schooling, medical visits, and cultural tourism.

More than 50 regular routes were newly added, over 300 routes optimized, and more than 200 stops installed.

In 2025 alone, the system served approximately 10.33 million passenger trips, with special tourism routes such as the Jiaxiu Tower night line introduced during the summer season.
