State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co's Southern Operation Branch conducted a follow-up visit on Jan 14 to assess the operation of its Huinong (Farm-to-Market) Bus Lines, gather villagers' feedback, and further optimize services to better address rural travel needs.
At 5:40 am on Jan 15, before dawn, branch staff members arrived at a Huinong Line stop in Wuxing village, Huaxi district, to conduct on-site consultations with local residents.
As Guiyang's first Huinong bus line, the route has been continuously adjusted and upgraded since its launch on March 5, 2025, in response to villagers' needs.
The bus stop shelters provide shade and protection from rain and are equipped with tiered seating, making it easier for villagers to place baskets, shoulder poles, and other farming tools. To accommodate residents heading to early morning markets to sell vegetables, the first daily departure was also moved 20 minutes earlier.
"In the past, we had to walk for two hours just to find a transfer into the city," said a villager surnamed Wang. "Now the bus comes directly to our village, saving us a lot of travel time when we go to sell produce in the city."

Another customized Huinong bus line was launched in Maiping town on May 30, 2025. Villagers can reserve seats in advance through WeChat groups, and services operate once a sufficient number of passengers have signed up.
"Now we can register in the group ahead of time and take the bus easily. Our vegetables reach the city fresher, sell at better prices, and help increase our income," said a villager surnamed Li.

Since the launch of the Huinong bus lines, villagers have taken more than 17,000 trips in total and transported over 260 metric tons of agricultural produce, significantly improving rural mobility and supporting farmers' livelihoods.
