Guiyang SOE awarded special authorization for water meter verification

Guizhou Zhuwei Smart Water Co, a subsidiary of the State-owned Guiyang Water Environment Group Co, recently passed an assessment by the Guizhou provincial market supervision authority and officially obtained the metrological authorization for special items. This makes it the first company in Guiyang to hold this "dual verification integration" qualification.

The "dual verification integration" means that the initial verification of household water meters before installation and the factory verification are carried out in an integrated manner.

The accuracy of water meters is directly related to the vital interests of households and the refined management of water resources. The "dual verification integration" reform combines two verification procedures into one, allowing authorized enterprises to directly put factory-verified meters into use once they pass inspection, significantly improving verification efficiency.

Since initiating authorization preparations in April 2025, Guizhou Zhuwei Smart Water Co has comprehensively upgraded its metrology verification management system, verification devices, environment, and personnel qualifications. The company standardized 12 core procedures from appearance inspection to metrological performance testing, formed a professional team passing the required special examinations, and refined the compilation of a complete traceable management system.

Ultimately, through its outstanding performance in rigorous on-site blind sample tests and multi-dimensional comparisons of personnel and equipment, the company successfully obtained the special authorization.

With this qualification, Guizhou Zhuwei Smart Water Co will strictly ensure the accuracy and reliability of water meter measurements through mandatory verification, safeguarding the fairness and rights of both water suppliers and residents.
