The Shahe Street Smart Parking Lot project, constructed by Guiyang Smart Parking Industry Investment and Development Co, a subsidiary of State-owned Guiyang Infrastructure Construction and Investment Group, was put into operation this year to ease parking difficulties.
The facility has 16 floors and 906 parking spaces, with the first and second floors above ground designated for commercial use, and the third through 14th floors featuring an automated mechanical parking system providing 870 spaces. The two underground levels serve as traditional parking areas with 36 parking and charging spaces.
"Drivers only need to follow the on-screen instructions at the smart entrance of the mechanical garage. The entire parking or retrieval process takes about two minutes, saving the time spent searching for a parking space or locating one's car," said Hu Yujie, deputy general manager of Guiyang Smart Parking Industry Investment and Development Co.
"Next, we will continue improving the parking lot's services," said Ai Ying, chairwoman of the company. "We plan to add user-friendly facilities such as vending machines, shared power banks, and umbrellas, as well as install directional signs on nearby roads to help citizens locate the parking lot quickly and accurately."
