State-owned Guiyang Public Transport Co has reached a cooperation agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co (CATL) to strengthen its professional high-voltage battery maintenance capacity, achieving a breakthrough in core component repairs for new energy vehicles.
Under the agreement, CATL provides comprehensive support, including core technology authorization, key component supply, and standardized maintenance process guidance. Guiyang Public Transport Co's Vehicle Repair Division responded swiftly by designating its Central Workshop – Future Ark Service Station – as the primary repair hub and assembling a specialized team to carry out new energy battery repairs.
To ensure quality and efficiency, the Future Ark facility is equipped with a high-standard independent workshop, complete with insulated workbenches, high-voltage testing devices, airtightness testers, and other specialized equipment. It is also the first to connect to CATL’s battery big data platform, enabling remote fault diagnosis, historical data tracing, and enhanced technical decision-making.
Since the start of this year, the company has completed medium- and light-level maintenance, such as module balancing and single-cell replacement, on CATL batteries for 35 bus rapid transit vehicles, ensuring safety and performance. Health checks have also been conducted on high-voltage batteries for 137 buses, with a dedicated database created for each vehicle to guide ongoing maintenance.
Before the launch of the Future Ark Service Station, only two buses could be repaired every two days. Since its opening in early July, daily repair output has increased to 5 buses every two days, improving operational efficiency by 25 percent.
