Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has launched its first-ever "ride reservation" service for public buses, debuting on Route V8 as a responsive micro-circulation line.
To improve service quality and reduce wait times, Guiyang Public Transport Co now allows passengers on Route V8 – running between Huaguoyuan Area U and Penshuichi – to book rides via their phones.

According to Ge Wei, chairman of Guiyang Qianshuang Urban Public Transport Co, Route V8 operates on a flexible, on-demand model with no fixed departure times, designed to meet personalized travel needs. Passengers select their stop and number of riders on the "Che Lai Le" ("Bus is Coming") app, submit their request, and wait at the stop to board.
Based on passenger feedback and operational data, the company plans to fine-tune the service and expand the reservation feature to Routes V6, V15, and V1.
