EcoVadis, a globally recognized leader in corporate sustainability ratings, recently announced its latest assessment of State-owned Guizhou Tyre Co, awarding the company a silver medal. This recognition places Guizhou Tyre among the top 15 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.
As one of the world's largest corporate social responsibility (CSR) rating agencies, EcoVadis provides widely recognized evaluations based on international CSR standards, including the United Nations Global Compact, International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 26000. The rating assesses companies across three key dimensions – policies, actions, and results – offering a comprehensive evaluation of their CSR management.
In February last year, Guizhou Tyre was awarded a Bronze Medal, ranking in the top 35 percent of participating companies globally.
Over the past year, the company has made significant progress in four key sustainability areas: environmental impact, labor and human rights, sustainable procurement, and business ethics. These efforts resulted in a 10-point improvement, securing silver in its latest assessment.
Huang Gege, chairman of Guizhou Tyre, stated that the company has integrated social responsibility principles into its operations. These principles ensure environmental protection, employee well-being, legal compliance, and ethical business practices, all of which contribute to long-term sustainable growth.
Guizhou Tyre has also established a Sustainability and Social Responsibility Governance Policy and a Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Action Plan. In alignment with the Paris Agreement, the company is committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which sets scientific carbon reduction goals and implementation strategies to combat global climate change.
