Guizhou High Precision Strip and Foil Co and Guizhou Guilv New Materials Co, subsidiaries of the State-owned Guiyang Industrial Development Holding Group, in recent years, have played a key role in promoting the growth of Qingzhen city's aluminum industry and its overall economic and social development.
Looking back on its development trajectory, Qingzhen city has accelerated the expansion and improvement of its industrial sector, with emerging industries like aluminum processing rapidly rising.
In 2023, eight aluminum and aluminum processing projects were established in Qingzhen with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan ($154.97 million). In addition, 11 standard factory buildings covering a total area of 627,900 square meters were completed, including Guilv's now operational 150,000-metric-ton recycled aluminum project. The project's 30,000-ton annual output of ultra-thin and power battery aluminum foil has entered trial production. In the same year, Qingzhen added 15 new industrial enterprises, with their added value reaching 7.33 billion yuan.
Qingzhen is home to China's largest contiguous mining area, ranking first in Southwest China's Guizhou province with 390 million tons of proven bauxite reserves. The city has developed a comprehensive green circular industrial chain covering bauxite mining, metal smelting/non-metallic applications, deep processing, and recycling.
Qingzhen's alumina production capacity stands at 2.4 million tons, and its electrolytic aluminum capacity is 500,000 tons. The province's market share of alumina and electrolytic aluminum products is 45.3 percent and 28.3 percent, respectively. From January to August this year, Qingzhen's aluminum industry achieved a total output value of 16.47 billion yuan, with an added value of 3.38 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 54.24 percent.
