A special meeting was recently held in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – where it was urged that the development of State-owned enterprises, or SOEs, and assets be accelerated.
The May 19 meeting – presided over by Hu Zhongxiong, secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee – focused on supporting the high-quality development of municipal SOEs.
Hu emphasized the need to accelerate the development of State-owned assets and enterprises.
After listening to reports on them, Hu pointed out the necessity of continuously optimizing the structure and layout of State-owned capital and of advancing the improvement of SOE reforms.
He stressed the importance of the premium-quality and efficient allocation of SOE assets and resources, as well as the planning and construction of major projects and new initiatives.
Hu also emphasized that the Guiyang Tourism Development Group and Guiyang Foreign Trade Development Group were jointly responsible for promoting the cultural tourism industry and an open economy.
He called on them to advance the commercialization of tourism, directing more State capital into strategic industries.
Hu also called on them to revitalize idle and inefficient tourism resources – focusing efforts on building robust foreign trade platforms and reducing financing costs for foreign trade enterprises.
