Recently, the former Guizhou Yong'an Electric Motor Factory and the former Guizhou Transistor Factory were named as part of the first batch of Guizhou province's industrial heritage list.
The two old factories were restructured and reorganized as Guizhou Yong'an Electric Motor Co and Guizhou Huagong Tool Injection Molding Co in 2007, respectively. The two companies are affiliated with the State-owned Guiyang Industrial Investment Co in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The industrial heritage projects selected in this batch by Guizhou are characterized by distinct industrial features, outstanding heritage value, and well-preserved conditions.
The purpose of this selection is to further protect the province's industrial heritage, as well as to preserve industrial culture.
Established in 1965, the Guizhou Yong'an Electric Motor Factory was formed through the partial relocation of workers from the Shanghai People's Electric Motor Factory and the Shanghai Yuejin Electric Motor Factory to Guizhou. At that time, the factory successfully developed its first electric motor, first transformer, and first set of hydroelectric generators in Guizhou, making significant contributions to national construction.
Guizhou Yong'an Electric Motor Co, in Guiyang, has now become a manufacturing enterprise that integrates the research and development, production, and sales of efficient and energy-saving industrial motors. Its innovative products are exported worldwide as supporting equipment.
In 2007, State-owned enterprises such as Guizhou Huachang Industrial Co and Guiyang Tool Factory were integrated and restructured to form Guizhou Huagong Tool Injection Molding Co. Its predecessor was established in 1969, and was engaged in the research and manufacturing of transistors, making significant contributions to China's machinery industry.
The factory was once one of the first to introduce advanced equipment and technology from abroad as in made it themselves, playing a crucial role in the localization of automotive components and the development of the province's automotive industry.
