Charging piles in Guiyang benefit residents

At the charging station of Shubo Wanda Plaza in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, 25 DC charging piles are being kept busy charging a seemingly endless stream of new energy vehicles.

These charging piles were built by Guiyang Mineral Energy Telaidian Charging Network Operation Co, a subsidiary of the State-owned Guiyang Mineral Energy Investment Group Co.

Telaidian is mainly responsible for the construction and operation of 4,800 charging terminal projects under the Guiyang urban charging network.

"Up to now, 122 charging piles have been put into use in the city, more than 300 are under construction, and more than 400 have been contracted to be built," said Deng Lijuan, deputy general manager of Telaidian, adding the goal this year is to ensure the completion and operation of 1,447 charging piles.

This will accelerate the construction of charging network infrastructure for the urban-rural integration of Guiyang and Guian New Area.

"Our charging pile has a double-safety protection system, which can analyze the relevant data of the charging vehicle, evaluate the status of the vehicle battery, and pay real-time attention to the running status of the charging pile, to monitor and prevent potential safety risks that may occur during the charging process of the user's vehicle," said Lu Weichang, the company's operations manager.

The use of charging piles will further promote the city's low-carbon and green development, and bring more convenience to residents' green travel.

The owner of a new energy vehicle surnamed Cao said his car can be fully charged within 40 to 50 minutes to support a run of 300 to 400 kilometers, and the average cost each time is about 40 yuan ($5.65), thus improving charging efficiency and reducing the cost.
