Efforts to restructure State-owned enterprises pay off

Efforts made by Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – to optimize and restructure its State-owned enterprises to improve operational efficiency have paid off.

Local media reported that in 2023, the city will continue to promote the high-quality development of State-owned companies.

At a news conference held in Guiyang on Jan 10, municipal officials had a positive message to convey.

Authorities said that in the new round of optimization and restructuring of the city's State-owned capital in 2022, the industrial structure of Guiyang's State-owned enterprises was further improved.

What's more, officials added that the competitiveness, innovation capacity and risk mitigation capability of the State-owned economy were enhanced.

Speaking at the news conference, Han Rong, deputy director of Guiyang's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, was bullish.

Han said that the new round of optimization and restructuring of the city's State-owned capital involved a broader scope of businesses with a stronger push.

He added that the city had improved the structure of industry with its business mode and operations focus becoming clearer – and that the internal integration of the State-owned enterprises had also made substantial progress.

In the next phase, Guiyang will make greater efforts to advance the high-quality growth of State-owned enterprises, step up building the new development paradigm and strive to build a modern industrial system.
