Academician workstation in Guiyang unveiled

The Academician Workstation for Structural Engineering was officially unveiled on Nov 17. It was created by PowerChina Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, which is a State-owned enterprise in Guiyang.

The workstation was established due to the cooperation agreement between Sinohydro Bureau 9 and Guizhou University.

"The main research and development direction of the workstation is the new fabricated concrete vierendeel sandwich panel structure and its key technologies," said Ma Kejian, academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the director of the Space Structure Center of Guizhou University.

The unveiling of the academician workstation will help to develop Guizhou's construction industry in terms of building a technological innovation system and upgrading Guizhou's scientific research talent team.

"The Guiyang bureau of science and technology will take the initiative to provide services, optimize management, and provide all-round support to the new academician workstation," said Jiang Fangju, director of the Guiyang bureau of science and technology.
