Guizhou Jonyang Kinetics Co in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been developing all-terrain vehicles with the Polar Research Institute of China and assisted with Antarctic scientific research missions over the past seven years.
The all-terrain vehicles are designed to protect the safety of passengers and are amphibious, allowing them to adapt to be used for a variety of purposes, including firefighting and emergency rescue.
The company started researching all-terrain vehicles in 2006 and upgraded them for Antarctic scientific research missions. Due to Antarctica's inhospitable environment, the company spent about two years carrying out research in Xinjiang and Tibet to ensure that the vehicles can fulfill their missions in the Antarctic.
The maximum speed of Antarctic all-terrain vehicles can reach up to 60 kilometers per hour, and the vehicle can function in an environment from -41 C to 40 C.
It mainly transports researchers and supplies, explores pathways, and rescues trapped people in Antarctica.
The vehicle was used in an Antarctic scientific research mission for the first time in 2015. In 2019, the company upgraded the vehicle and launched the "Antarctic II" all-terrain vehicle.
Compared with the previous version, the Antarctic II can adapt to lower temperatures and is more abrasion-resistant. It is also equipped with an air conditioning system and a fresh air system to make passengers more comfortable.
With a history of more than 80 years, Guizhou Jonyang Kinetics Co focuses on the production of special products, special engineering equipment, emergency rescue equipment and regular excavators, and has more than 200 patents.
Its products are sold in more than 10 countries and regions in Asia, Africa and the Americas.
