The trial run of the 400,000-metric-tons of wet purification phosphoric acid project in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province proved successful, with the first qualified products produced on Oct 8.

This means that the project operator, State-owned Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group Kaiyang Phosphate Co, has taken a key step forward in expanding the fine phosphorus chemical industry chain and promoting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.

This transformation and upgrading project features the largest investment and most advanced technological content in the Kaifeng phosphorous plate since the establishment of the group, better serving the national food security strategy and rapid layout of the whole industrial chain of new energy battery materials.

Zhang Sheng, general manager of the Kaiyang Phosphate Co, said that wet purified phosphoric acid is a precursor of new energy materials and a raw material of fine phosphorus chemical products with high added value.

The group has built three such projects in Fuquan city in Guizhou province, Dazhou city in Sichuan province, and Shanghang county in Fujian province, with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons and an output value of about 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
