The commencement ceremony for State-owned Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group's 60,000-metric-ton iron phosphate, 100,000-ton lithium iron phosphate and 20,000-ton battery recycling projects was held in Xifeng county.
It has been reported that the three projects with a total investment of 2.49 billion yuan ($360.81 million) are expected to be completed by the end of 2023. After beginning production, the industrial output value will increase by 11.5 billion yuan and more than 500 people will be employed.
According to the project plan, the 60,000-ton iron phosphate and 100,000-ton lithium iron phosphate projects will enhance the core competitiveness of the industrial chain by relying on the group's resource reserve advantages in the upstream part of the industrial chain, as well as the leading advantages and mature technical processes of the intermediate product purification phosphoric acid supply.
In addition, the 20,000-ton battery recycling project will introduce lithium recycling technology to achieve iron phosphate and lithium recycling.
Next, the group will focus on building a closed-loop whole industrial chain from new energy battery precursor materials to battery recycling and strive to contribute to the development of emerging industries in Guiyang and throughout the province.
