Guiyang Industrial and Commercial Investment Group – a State-owned enterprise, based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is understood to have plans to expand its existing operations in the elderly care sector.

The company currently operates the Kuangshanyuan nursing home in Guiyang. It is on a site covering 4,000 square meters and the facility has a total floor space of about 9,000 sq m. There are single rooms, double rooms and quadruple rooms, with a total of 119 beds.

The nursing home has introduced domestic professional nursing technology to provide quality life-care for the disabled and semi-disabled elderly, as well as comprehensive nursing services such as memory training for the demented elderly. Different nutritious foods are offered to residents every day, to guarantee their healthy dietary needs.

The facility has also established detailed health files on its clients – including their blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature and other data. Nurses guide the elderly in morning exercises, movement and muscle training at 9:00 am every day. There are activities such as paper-cutting and painting in the afternoon.

In addition, the company's new daycare center for the elderly on Zhongcaosi sub-district in Guiyang is about to open. It has functional areas such as a rehabilitation center, traditional Chinese medicine physiotherapy facilities, an entertainment room, book reading room and multi-functional audio-visual room.

Plans are for the company to commission projects at other locations within the year. It is understood that these efforts have made a notable contribution to elderly care in Guiyang.
