Guizhou takes lead in green manufacturing

The products of Guizhou Tyre Co – a State-owned enterprise located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – made a list of green design products in 2021 announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in mid-January.

The company focuses on harmless raw materials, clean production, waste recycling, and low-carbon energy. It is committed to realizing the organic unity of corporate economic and social benefits.

The company began using high-efficiency and energy-efficient nitrogen vulcanization technology for tire vulcanization production as early as 2011, which was a milestone in the greening process of Guizhou tires.

The traditional vulcanization process consumes 60 percent to 80 percent of all steam consumption in tire production. Nitrogen vulcanization technology greatly reduces steam consumption. Nitrogen vulcanization can also improve the operation efficiency of equipment and make production safer.

At the end of last year, the new products released by the company proved popular for being safe, wear-resistant, and fuel-efficient.

Green manufacturing facilitates low-carbon travel. Over the 10 years since the founding of Guizhou Tyre Co, the black-tire manufacturing process has become completely green.
