In 2021, 153,100 new jobs were created in the urban areas of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, registering a low urban unemployment rate of less than 5 percent, according to the Guiyang municipal bureau of human resources and social security.
Meanwhile, 1,125 new jobs were created in the urban areas of Guian New Area also with an urban unemployment rate below five percent.
Guiyang and Guian supported college and university students to start their own businesses and organized employment internships to aid the employment of fresh graduates.
From January to November of 2021, a total of 1,227 college and university students were assisted in starting their own businesses, and 1,714 graduates were recruited and dispatched to employment training bases.
During the 11-month period, Guiyang and Guian held 124 job fairs with 1,768 companies participating, 90,059 jobs provided, and 7,537 job seekers
Throughout the year, Guiyang and Guian supported State-owned enterprises in Guizhou to make good use of talents, helping them introduce and cultivate 37 industrial talents.
Also, five national high-skilled talent training bases, 17 skill master studios and a national human resources service industrial park were built with the first batch of 20 human resources service institutions settling in.
