Guiyang Agricultural Investment Development (GAID), a State-owned enterprise (SOE) based in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently ranked among China's top 500 agricultural companies.

The ranking, released by China's State-owned newspaper Farmer Daily, was based on the business of industrial companies.

GAID is involved in the entire agricultural industrial chain, including seedlings, agricultural product processing, market circulation, planting and breeding, the grain industry, and rural financial services.

So far, GAID has invested and constructed 124 agricultural projects in nine cities, prefectures and Guian New Area, accounting for 40 percent of 88 districts' and counties' total agricultural projects.

The business scales of GAID's several vegetable planting, dairy, breeding and market circulation projects rank first in Guizhou province.

In the future, GAID will establish a technology innovation system centered around companies, oriented by markets, and integrated with industries, universities and research institutions. By merging industrial chains, innovation chains and value chains, GAID will improve its industrial concentration and overall competitiveness.

By 2025, GAID aims to exceed 30 billion yuan ($4.72 billion)in asset scale and 10 billion yuan in business revenue.
