The Guiyang State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission – also known as the Guiyang SASAC – made a positive progress report on the construction of its rail transit line 3 being developed in the provincial capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province during a news conference held on Nov 26.
The project's first phase is expanding from Tongmuling Station on the north side of the Huaxi Round-city Expressway to the Luowan Station in Wudang district.
It will stretch 43 kilometers and will have 29 stations, running north and south through Guiyang and it will interchange with lines 1 and 2.
Construction was scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2022, before the start of mechanical and electrical work, according to an official in charge.
The progress of other key transport infrastructure projects with municipal State-owned enterprises – or SOEs – involved in was recently updated by Li Shiyong, deputy director of the Guiyang SASAC.
He said that Guiyang and the Guian New Area had successively completed the construction of an intermediate ring road, Renmin Avenue, the rail transit lines 1 and 2 and the reconstruction of Huaxi Avenue.
To help realize the strategic goal of building a"strong provincial capital", the Guiyang SASAC announced three ways to support the greater involvement of municipal SOEs in the investment, management and construction of big projects.
Under the announcement, priority will be given to projects that can enhance regional traffic carrying capacity and improve the urban traffic environment. The extensions to Lincheng East Road, the Taijin Line and Guantan Avenue will also be accelerated.
Improvements to public transport service levels and the city's operation capabilities will also be supported. Since the start of the year, Guiyang Public Transport Group Co Ltd has purchased 267 new energy buses and put all of them into use.
The Guiyang SASAC said it will cooperate with municipal departments to optimize and open up new bus lines to enhance traffic connectivity between Guiyang and Guian.
It said the promotion of smart traffic applications will also be encouraged. Information and intelligent technologies will be utilized to expand rail transits, develop face scan payment functions for public transport and build smart parking lots.
