Guiyang Production Control Supply Chain Co, a State-owned enterprise based in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has reportedly played an active role in promoting the region's tea exports, by integrating production and supply chains and the retail side of the business.
The company is focusing on the special local tea and is said to have established a complete product ecosystem covering all the phases of production and consumption. It has undertaken a series of investigations of tea producers in the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi and Liupanshui – as well as in southern Guizhou – and explored different models so as to achieve the best integration of resources.
Based on its own strengths and advantages in terms of expert staff and efficient marketing, the company set up a model – that covered its entire operations, farmers and the overseas market – so as to improve Guizhou's tea exports.
It also helped local enterprises expand into international markets by providing services for customized supply chain management and international trade. With its help, the tea producers in the province have reportedly increased their output and cut costs.
From January to September, the company's foreign trade was worth 134 million yuan ($20.99 million), surging 168 percent year-on-year.
During the period, it exported 142,500 kilograms of tea. It also helped the province export more than 400,000 kg of tea to overseas markets in the United States, Europe and Malaysia, as well as created more than 300,000 jobs.
