Following national guidelines for rural revitalization, the Guiyang State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, or Guiyang SASAC – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on July 9-13 teamed up with others for an on-site investigation of the development of beautiful villages, that could boost red tourism in the region.

The investigation team – which also comprised representatives from 13 State-owned enterprises or SOEs and departments – surveyed Yachihe village administered by Qingzhen city, Suoqiao village in Xiuwen county and Maodong village in Xifeng county.

In Yachihe, the identification and development of red cultural resources was a highlight according to Li Shiyong, deputy Party secretary of the Guiyang SASAC. The idea is for SOEs to provide support funds, technology and materials to foster local industries and develop it as a beautiful village.

Elsewhere, the team moved on to Suoqiao village and learned about its treatment of the environment, its development as a rural civilization, as well as its overall industrial development and collective economy. It's understood that further efforts will be made to promote its red culture and expand its sales channels.

When it comes to Maodong village, the team thought highly of various measures introduced there to deploy red cultural resources. One idea is to organize financial institutions to facilitate the development of local red tourism and foster local industries via funding.

To help to transform the three pilot villages into beautiful villages, SOEs have committed to providing at least 2 million yuan ($310,000) within two years, with half the amount to be put in place in the current year.

Moving forwards, the next stage will involve more support being given to developing the local collective economy and red tourism.
